TORONTO, July 23 -- Canada's main stock market edged down Monday as gold and materials stocks fell, according to Xinhua.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index edged down 14.62 points, or 0.09 percent to close Monday at 16,420.84 points.
The Canadian dollar was down to 0.76.01 U.S. dollar.
Barrick Gold Corp. fell 4.25 percent to 15.54 Canadian dollars.
Bombardier Inc. lost 1.44 percent to 4.78 Canadian dollars.
Baytex Energy Corp. declined 1.17 percent to 4.24 Canadian dollars while Suncor Energy Inc. lost 0.22 per cent to 53.88 Canadian dollars.
Aurora Cannabis Inc. rose 4.62 percent to 7.7 Canadian dollars while Canopy Growth Corp. gained six percent to 33.76 Canadian dollars.
